CLASS OFFERINGS
Tiny Tots Ages 0-5 : A fun and thoughtfully structured program designed to support early development through movement and play. Using obstacle-based training, children build coordination, balance, and listening skills while being gently introduced to the foundations of Kung-Fu in a positive, confidence-building environment.
Children Ages 6-12 : A supportive and structured program where children develop strong fundamentals, discipline, and self-confidence. Through traditional Kung-Fu training, students improve focus, respect, and physical fitness while being guided in an encouraging environment that helps them grow both on and off the mat.
Teens & Adults 13+ : A welcoming yet high-standard training experience for teens and adults of all levels. Students build strength, skill, and confidence through traditional techniques, conditioning, and practical self-defense while training in a positive, focused community that supports personal growth.
ABOUT
Fu-Jow Pai Kung-Fu, also known as Tiger Claw Kung Fu, is a traditional Southern Chinese martial art focused on powerful techniques, strong stances, and practical self-defense. This authentic Kung-Fu system emphasizes close-range combat, explosive hand strikes, joint locks, and the signature tiger claw techniques designed for control and effectiveness.
HISTORY
Fu-Jow Pai originated in the Hoi Tong Temple of Guangdong, China, and simulates the movements of an attacking tiger. Our roots date back to the 1800s, with the art passed down from an anonymous monk eventually finding its way to our Grandmaster Wai Hong, 3rd generation successor, who is the official founder of the Fu-Jow Pai Federation in NYC. As Wai Hong’s student, Sifu Vizzio was granted discipleship, starting NJ Fu-Jow Pai in 1974, with Sifu’s daughter Peaches Vizzio opening up the Fairfield, NJ location in 2007. Since then, Fu-Jow Pai has grown internationally and across the United States, however, its essence has never changed. Its roots in traditional Chinese martial arts remain intact, untouched by commercialization or dilution. What exists today is the same powerful, authentic system, carefully preserved through generations of disciplined training and the high standards set forth by the Grandmaster and carried on by every true disciple.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Our Fu-Jow Pai Kung-Fu training develops strength, speed, flexibility, coordination, and endurance while teaching real-world self-defense skills. Students of all ages train in proper stance work, striking combinations, conditioning drills, and traditional forms that build both physical ability and mental discipline.
In addition to self-defense, Fu-Jow Pai Kung-Fu helps students build confidence, focus, discipline, and respect. Classes are suitable for children, teens, and adults, with instruction tailored to all experience levels—from beginners to advanced practitioners.
